feel free to call me crazy for this. currently im keeping a 7 inch long arowana in a 10 gallon tank and hes a comfortable size for the tank right now but im just hopping he wont get any bigger. Will he stop growing due to the small size of the tank like most fish do?

also its tankmates are 3 clown loaches, a rainbow shark, and a small clown knife (like i said feel free to call me crazy)

i really like this fish but the only larger tanks i have are community tanks and as we all know they cant be put in with community fish for obvious reasons. but if he gets to larger then i will have to sell him.

btw dont get me wrong, im actually i very good fishkeeper, but when it comes to these kinds of fish im somewhat lost

is this for real?
HE WILL OUTGROW THAT TANK.
no matter what you do, he will outgrow it. don't stunt the fish. give him a larger tank please.

It already has out grown that tank :(

i know close to nothing about this fish. the most i could give him is 55 gallons. and i am a good fish keeper but with community fish, not with these insane exotic ones. but for now he's fine, atleast until it gets an inch or so bigger

ok ok ok my be you REALLY dont know
This is my best advice for you SALE THE FISH TO SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING. Do not keep another day sell. A 7" anything should never be in a 10 gallon tank.

What species is this arowana? You need a larger tank than a measly 10g to house any of them properly. Stunting them will increase their vulnerability to health issues. We do not encourage stunting the fish for your sake of convenience. That is very much unfair to your fish. Both your arowana and clown knife should either be sold to someone who can house them adequately or upgrade your tanks at all. There is no reason otherwise why you feel the need to keep these fish.

Your rainbow shark will eventually be eaten by both arowana and clown knife. Your loaches need a much larger tank than that. 55g is the minimum for clown loaches, no less than that.

Charles, you admitted you know nothing about the arowana. You shouldn't have bought that fish until you gathered enough relevant information pertaining to its care and until you are ready to house it adequately.

Lastly, for other members, if you have issues with the post, why is it the staff has not received any complaint about suspected trolling? Instead, I am seeing intentional provocations done here when it should have been avoided. If this member is rather genuine with his thoughts, why not help him? This is what the community is supposed to be. Feeding other "trolls" doesn't give you an excuse that you are not one of them.

That's not the point I am talking about. My point is it is very easy to judge the character of one especially someone who is new to the forum. Give him benefit of the doubt. You are not obligated to contribute inflammatory post to any topic you don't like.

I am getting sick of all the troll posts from our regular membership. Either help out other keepers, or keep your thoughts to yourself.
