I'd say move some fish around, maybe stick him in a 55 but a 55 is still not large enough, but it's a lot better than a 10. It may give you a few months to get a much larger tank. Maybe try craigslist because you do need an upgrade

But how big are the other tanks. Are they bigger than 55 or smaller?

Or if you're tight on money, then I'd say just sell your giants and stick with community fish until you can get a big enough aquarium.

Or, you could even try building a tank from plywood. There are many DIY projects, maybe try looking into that?

Anyway, good luck
And think of the fish first before you think of how much you enjoy it

I can't say it any better than lupin has so +1 on that and +1 if you can't help or think it is a troll then just don't post flamming gets us no where causes more friction on this site than is needed. As for the op just sell the fish stunting is horid. And unjust if peta cared about fish you wuld be in trouble but as they don't then you can't be charged with anything this being said think this way wuld you like a big house or just a house big enoph for you and mabe some of your vital survival stuff. Answere that and there is your answere.

I just say sell the damn thing. It will outgrow that 55 too man. I'm sorry, this isn't the fish for you.

charles, you should have done some research prior to getting the fish, there's no excuse for buying a fish without knowing anything about it.

that being said, almost everyone (myself included) has at one point or another, bought a fish without prior research. so i don't see any reason for the inflammatory posts. they were all really unnecessary and pretty disappointing if you ask me. if you have to criticize, do it constructively and respectfully.

back to the topic, there is no arowana that can be housed for much time in a 10gal. Aros are demanding fish from the get go and are unforgiving fish for anyone who isn't fully aware of what they're in for upon attaining one. because of this, i would strongly recommend passing the aro to someone else until you have read up more and are ready to own one.

hope this helps you make a better informed decision

Simple Answer: sell all fish off you dont have room for them. Next time do research.

For the rest of the members.... anyone remember their first tank? Did you do research on all the fish you bought? I didn't. I bought a Channel catfish put it in a 10gal and it grew. I asked for help...was told I needed larger tank, the catfish eventually moved to a larger home. Point is most of us have probably done something like this. Try to be more HELPFUL (getting HELP is how I managed to get my catfish a larger home...even if it means giving him away), This is why we are here to HELP others who don't know. Most of us didn't know a lot at one point in time. If you think the post is trolling or you dont like it... don't post and hit the report button... very simple.

He is just someone who needs help. I started out with goldies in a bowl, and look at me now. I got here with you guy's help, not people calling me a troll. Help him out and maybe he could turn out to be an awesome aro keeper.

Anyways, I would sell the fish and read up further.

Best of luck! ;]

a silver grows to over 5 feet as an adult... a 55 galons wont be enough. a 90 gallon for most of it's juvenile stage would be better as you find the cash to get at 180 gallon.
