Arowana in a 20 Gallon?

The 300 gallon has a custom built canopy that is 100% COVERED! the canopy is 2 foot tall so the aro could jump if it wants but it could not jump OUT...

But your immediate concern should be with the 20g, no?

yes, because you got to think, The 20 gallon is 12" width so he would not have any problems turning around or anything...

Being able to turn around won't be the problem, and unless you have a ridiculously skinny tank probably won't ever be a problem with a silver aro. A 20g tank isn't long enough to grow your aro up to a decent size so it will be able to compete and thrive with the fish in your 300g. I'd agree with everything Bderick said, and for the size you're going to want to grow it out to a 30g would be the bare minimum IMO. Something 4' long would be better and you'll probably see better growth if the fish has more room to swim.
