what size would be suitable?

For any arowana species your tank should be at least 3x as long as the aro's length and have a width/depth at least equal to the aro's length.

A 6 foot long tank will be to short for any aro over 24"

op: use the 150 for a grow out and in the mean time look for a bigger tank asap. silvers grow fast & big!
