Arowana tankmates, aggression

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When Snakeheads were legal the Redline Snakehead were recommended to be kept alone.
Yup the giant snakehead, malabar snakehead, even the golden auranti and barca are suggested that they be kept alone. The only community type snakehead are the small ones, but they will get harassed by the aro. Or may even get eaten.

Which Snakehead?:grinyes:
I’m still unsure. I remembered having a conversation with Kelly_Aquatics Kelly_Aquatics about keeping marus. I remembered they grow 20” to 24”. But wild grow 30”. Still debating what I should get for arowana tankmates without any community issues.

OP is referring to channa marulioides not marulius.

I’m not sure if maruliodes is compatible with arowanas… puskar, if I get a trio of kelberi it may work, one of the smallest peacock bass. If not, I’ll get a shoal of redhooks.

Not much info about maruliodes here. I still don’t know if they are compatible…

Redhooks are your best bet. Size-wise + agression-wise.
If you want to experiment you could do do with anything you want to. But if you want something that has the max chance to work would be SD.

I see your point, thinking of either kelberi bass or redhooks. Leaning more to bass as in my country they sell 8 medium sized pescock bass for $50 LOL. Redhooks however cost $50-60 for one

Does anyone know anything about datnoids? Do they need to be in groups to prevent arowana aggression?
