i say sell your texas and get your self a bigger aro... :D jk
sry for your loss.

yeah i guess it was pretty stupid of me to keep both of them together. i just thought the aro was thougher or that they'd learn to live together seeing they have a lot of space (2 fish in a 177 gallon).every1's tellin me to sell it but the tex is my baby (first fish that i got).i got it when he was 2cm long and now he's arround 12cm. is it possible to put a separator or smt? i'd keep the tex in like 15-20% of the tank and put other fish in the rest.

Rather than using a divider, why not build a community around the texas? Your tank is certainly big enough.

I got an arowana (about 7inches) in my 177 gallon tank with a texas cichlid. The texas has killed arround 15 fish till now and is torturing the arowana. His fins r rotten, he has cuts everywhere and doesn't move like it use to. I'm considering giving the texas back, but he's my baby (first fish I got) and he's big and beautiful.
Any suggestions?!
Thanx:headbang2

Actually it can be done, you are gonna have to add fish that are bigger then him. Also add some quick dither fish so he can spread his aggression out. When adding new fish put him in a divided area so the new fish can get acclimated without him terrorizing them.

If you end up with injured fish they will have to be removed to a hospital tank or they will need to be added to the list.

:iagree: Not to be an ***, but WTF were you thinking? You have a fish with a history and then you add an aro to the mix. The tex tortures the aro yet you do not seperate them:confused:...SURPRISE DEAD ARO :irked:

16 dead fish now, what's gonna be the next addition to your tank?

:WTF::iagree::irked:

Time for the texas to get bigger roommates or a smaller place of his own.
