The damdest thing...I was putting a slice of apple in the tank for my plecos and my
Aro snapped it off the fork, and a chewed on it ...he likes apple slices?!
Never seen that before, what a trip...:nilly:

Who wouldn't like apples? LOL I wouldn't expect it to become a vegetarian in the future. Most likely a reaction to dropping something in.

I was thinking the same thing but this dood has eaten 3-4 small pieces I cut up for him...
about the size of a .50" McDonalds french-fry

MY SILVER LIKE'S TO CHEW ON CUCUMBER'S.... I TRYED IT FOR THE PLECO'S AND THE ARO BEAT THEM TO IT.... I WAS PRETTY HAPPY TO WATCH IT GO DOWN....:WHOA: :WHOA:

An apple a day keeps the vet away!

AFAIK ... aros are carnivores and aren't designed to digest plant material ... so it could only do harm ... ;)

I have even seen a golden xback swollowing algae wafer meant for pleco in a fish shop.

sure they are

alot of the fish and insects/small animals they consume in the wild regularly consume/ have plant matter in the gut. this is digested along with the rest of the animal.
