Arowanas freaking out

I used to have my aro in a 55g tank ever since it was only 3inches. As it hit the 8inch mark, it would spaz out at nightime and wake me up in fact. I put a led moonlight think it would calm it down but nope. It was spaz out amd injure itself

After putting it in a 120g. I never had that issue

My silver used to do this when he was very small. As soon as I got a timer for my lights and there was more consistency to the biggest 'shock' in his day-to-day routine, he was much calmer. He only spooks now when the lid of my canopy comes down too hard and makes noise. They're very skittish as baby things.

See I thought that my arowana would be calmer from less bright lights but now that you say that, I should get a bigger tank maybe. It's only in a grow out right now.

I was thinkin that as well just because he is small right now.

my aro alos freaks out at times even when no 1 is around its like he is playing around with me do i need to add floating plants on the top as well heres a pic of my tank

I remember a 2' silver at my LFS used to splash water all over the place if you got within 5 feet of the tank so its normal.

In that tank floating plants are only going to make him feel more cramped then it already is.
