Arowanas ripped fins

You can try Melafix and salt. Melafix is good for healing of fins and good for dealing with bacterial infections. Follow the instructions/directions on the label. Maintain excellent aeration.

Make sure you do not have anything that absorbs chemicals -- no carbon, no zeolite, etc. If you dare, refrain from feeding your arowana for one week and see any improvement.

melefix is actually garbage. There is no need for it. I've tried melefix tons of times and it actually does more harm than good.

Clean water and aquarium salt is the key.

I have found that melafix helps speed up recovery, but people are going to have different results. I will agree that pristine water conditions will definitely do the trick.

The real key is to find out the cause, then just keep water clean. If you want to add melafix, great, if not that is fine too.

As for the salt, you SLOWLY, over the course of several hours (if not a day or two) raise the concentration to the desired level. You only dose again when you do a water change, because the salt does not evaporate. The only way to remove salt is through water changes. If you keep dosing salt every day your salinity will get way too high, very quickly.

Ohh I thought I had to keep adding the amount suggested on the box daily. Good thing I asked here on mfk. I'm real greatful for all of this
