dear all,

what do you think if we can have artificial driftwood replica that looks like have been hand-picked by experienced aquascape artist in your tank ? you only have to add plants and animal, and you already have beautiful planted tank or paludarium ?

regards,
Lepedz

no, what i mean is the finished product made from plastic or resin that look like an artistic driftwood that you can only find in the aquascaping photo contest, Have you ever looked into a beautiful planted tank, with a magnificent piece of driftwood, and talk to yourself that ‘ I’ve got to have one of those’ ? But you can’t, not because you didn’t have the money to buy it, but because that ornament belong to someone else, someone who understand the beauty of a piece of wood who can turn it into a masterpiece.
Most often than not, a beautiful planted aquarium or great looking paludarium consist a right piece of driftwood. You can say that it fit perfectly with the lay out. Unfortunately, most of us didn’t have the knowledge to choose the right driftwood to put in our tank. And like every snowflake, no driftwoods are the same. We need guidance to choose the right driftwood.
We are now in the moment of producing artificial replica of artistic looking driftwood. With these driftwoods, you can now have a beautiful planted tank or paludarium in just short time, just add plants, animals, and now you have a living ecosystem in your guest room. Each replica is selected carefully by experienced aquascape/paludarium artist. We have a wide range of driftwood from various sizes, so you can suit them with your tank.
Pics coming soon !!!

I think it would be nice...will there be large pieces? I think large pieces, and some made to be like hollow logs/stump would be good.

An often overlooked material is cork bark. It is usually shipped form where it was grown not in flat sheets of course but in cylinders, split down one side as it was removed from the tree.

These look very much like logs but of course have the advantage that being made of cork do not stain the water and are largely innert.

Attached is a picture of a short length (2.5 feet) of cork bark log that I carved in what I hoped was an artistic manner to look like a rotting log-ish.

It is entitled Stupid Log because there is only one problem with using cork bark as a decorative aquarium feature and that is that unless you silicone it to something pretty sturdy it will of course float. Stupid floating log!!

The 6mm sheet of tempered glass attached to this one was not enough to weight it down, but only just. A 10mm sheet would do it, or perhaps a nice piece of slate.

I love the way real wood looks but don't like the way it stains the water. I've come across a couple nice lookin artificial pieces, but can't seem to find a good supplier of really nice lookin artificial driftwood.

yes, there will be in large sizes, in fact we're thinking of producing in at least 5 sizes, so you can choose accordingly. we're still debating of which driftwood will be the example of the replica, because we're planning to set the driftwood in series, so when you buy the whole series, you can arrange the ornament into various lay out ( think LEGO ).
and our product will sink at once, won't pollute the water, and would look natural in your planted tank.
sounds good? don't be excited yet, because we're still in the middle of production so this ornament won't come out in short time.
still, any comment?

My issues of with the fake stuff is that it looks just that. And the price is out to lunch for something that doesn't look real. Especially when you add real plants or have it next to driftwood it can't stand up. But I would be intrested in seeing it if you are able to beat the issues.

I have a few pieces of polyresin wood. I also have several huge pieces of natural driftwood. While the natural wood looks good, and you can get huge pieces, it tends to get a little nasty over time as well. The polyresin pieces are smaller, not available in huge sizes that I've seen, but tend to stay much cleaner in my experience. I would be very interested in fake wood that looked good in larger sizes, and was reasonably priced.

I know it would be fake, im just saying natural wood is good for the water params, but bad because it will stain your water.
