Are you talking about the MAGNET caves? THOSE are absolutely wonderful for leopard geckos and other small herps. I adore them, and they are way cool for guests to look at in a naturalistic setup. The ones I dislike are those cave/domes with the huge openings. The point of a HIDE is to HIDE! In those, they dont touch the top and you can see the animal at all times which severely stresses them out.

Imagine youre in the middle of the Serengeti and all you have to hide under is your kitchen table. Would you rather be in that or a bomb shelter?

WTF?!? Man a exo terra cave is nothing like a bloody table. What planet are you from? No, I use the caves not the magnets, and the only one that has a big opening compared to the size is the smallest one.

I'm looking at my royal in one now and dude, all I can see is one of his fat rolls hanging out..

Yeah I was wondering where you'd get a table in the Serengeti anyhow. The Exoterra caves I've seen, if I'm thinking of the ones you and loco are arguing about, seem more or less like a more eye-pleasing version of the ever-popular upside-down catbox. I can't see anything wrong with that, and I'm one of those pessimistic people who tries his best to find the bad parts of everything.

TBH LSA The only reason I'm standing my ground on this one is because I've used them for years, my bf swears by 'em for his female royals which he's bred/breeding. That says something.

I'm not sure Loco has even tried them, I doubt it, and this is coming from someone who kept his beardy on crushed walnuts was it? Till it cut his feet open and wrecked it's feet (so he says).

Dude, I was EIGHT YEARS OLD. People learn, at least theyre supposed to anyway. C'mon, 7 years ago.

I might be thinking of something else. But what I'm thinking of looks like a cereal bowl cut in half... Maybe post pics of yours? From what you described it as, its probably not what I'm thinking of.

But dude, chill out.:chillpill:

Ok I'll take pics tonight and have them uploaded next week, my bf has too do it for me. I'll post a link insec though. As for the 8 yr old excuse..your parents should have been caring for it then or not let you have pets till you old enough to keep them ;)

Theres no excuses. You preach to other people about good husbandry, but you don't (or didn't practise it). Age isn't an excuse, nor an acceptable reason to subject your animals to suffering or to avoid using YOUR OWN good husbandry rule. How dare you preach to OTHER people when you have caused SO many problems for your animals.

I'd suggest we not here you preach about good husbandry and how nobody gives their pets this again..as it includes you.

Yes, by researching, as you also preach. Not by almost killing two of your pets ;)

Jsut because I didnt when I was 8 doesnt mean I dont now. Now, its my top priority.

I learned my lesson after my beardie. Since then, I havent had a SINGLE health problem with them in 7 years. But before that, blech...

How do you know my animals arent well cared for? I'm 15 now. Would you be happier if I made a thread with my setups and everything? I have no problem doing it, just camera trouble, or I already would have.

Just because I had no idea what I was doing 7 years ago doesnt mean I still dont. Its not an excuse. Its just to back up the fact that people LEARN. Do you tihnk there is something WRONG with good husbandry?

So chill out, I'm not trying to sound like a Joe-know-it-all.

By the way, I havent seen your setups! At least I don't think so...

You havent because you havent been on here that long. Other members have seen my iggy (in the setup it came in) and my tarantula in the one and I'm sure they saw one of my snakes. Funnily enough, I'm in the middle of getting some decent pics of my setups + animals in and out of the enclosures but weren't sure whether to post them in these, or when they're in their stacking vivs I'm forking out a couple of hundred for..Yeah I'm 15 too, don't care about my animals? ALL my money goes on them dude they're my life and my babies..

Back to the point, I'm in the process of doing that without being asked ;) You can't go about spouting s**t when you aint been posting on here long enough to know your facts. I too have trouble I've said a few times before now my Bf has to upload all my pictures and at the rate I take them It has took a while. Not to mention lately I've been aquiring most of the pets I have wanted for years because I now know enough (years - literally, of research) and I have the money, space and time. I thought I'd get the pics up when I've got my lot, that OK with you ;)

Yeah sure make a thread for your animals, be interesting to see them anyway.

Don't be a downright tit. Obviously I don't think there's something wrong with good husbandry. Your making abit of a show of yourself with that comment. Not to mention your immaturity showing through it.

I never said your animals aren't cared for. Stop putting words in my mouth. I said they WEREN'T. You admitted this yaself.
As for nothing since the beardie, did you mention the gecko, what did you do to that? With calci sand was it? ;)

Anyway. My point was, you go around sprouting stuff to the people who have been keeping and breeding herps longer than you've been alive and that already requires a nerve, but then to do it when you caused two of your animals alot of suffering!?! (whatever age you were, Please don't bring that up again 'cause I don't want to hear it...) is really quite cheeky. My point was not to go preaching to people about bad husbandry and how many people don't give their animals it because you did it yourself..

Ok, so you learned from it, but so will these people if thats the case so lay off. You aren't any different.

Age thing mate, not an excuse, I was breeding quite alot of fish and looking after tropical livebearers and a friends snake when I was younger than you were.. and I actually taught my dad and my brother how to look after the burm he impulsed and had words with him in which he couldn't argue about when I was 10/11. At 13 I was keeping stingrays, scorpions, tree frogs, snakes, arrowanas, an adult iguana and much more successfully. The only ones I lost was the stingray and arrowana (with everything else in that tank) after two years I think it was, when my mother was looking after them when I went on holiday. So please, don't play the age card ;)
