ArttyFish Mixed Pygo Shoal LED Shimmering Effect Set Up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So, just got my light wired up and (yeah I'm a dumbass for not realizing), but they ended up sending me the yellowish light. The box, receipt and everything say it's the 5000 to 6500k light, but the LED in the middle is yellow. The flickering of the light also made me kind of nauseous, so I don't really care to send it back and rewire the white one. Did anyone wanna just buy it off me? I wired it with an off and on switch. Shoot me a PM if interested.

What do you mean "flickering" of the light? It shouldn't flicker

Oh haha. That's simple, just reduce the surface current, which will reduce the shimmering effect.

oh btw....

since these are pretty much pure white.... anyone got any idea for cheap supplement spectrum ? you know how some t-5 are purplish that gives fish a lil more red showing. not actinic cuz thats for saltwater.... i dunno, i'm sure these would make shiny fish really shiny but i fear that it'll wash out the color

Saving my pennies for my mothership. Just wondering where to cut costs but if wiring all three to one would not give me the spread then 3 cords it is=)

it's better to wire them separately and use something like this

. only few dollars, just skip a lunch and you will have the money for it. :)
there's a smaller version for just 3 plugs instead of 6.

And here's a thought....do you know if these are dimmable? Would be awesome if you could hook these up to a dimmer switch. Anybody know?

Probably not, I would assume the driver built inside the casing is at a constant current setting. maybe Artty could test one out??

I received these lights from LEDWHOLESALERS through amazon, and they sent the wrong color--"warm white" instead of "white." I would recommend adding a note to any order so they know to send the right color. Their Amazon listing specifies the 6000k white lights, but that is not what they sent.

Thanks for the wiring picture. I figured the green/yellow was the ground, but I didn't know which was hot and which was neutral.
