Very nice aros bud!

Steve

as for food i forgot to add they may not eat for some time but dont worry a aro the size of them guys can go 1 month without food after being moved

it all depend on what the old owner was feeding but i have always found giant meal worms/marios or crickets the best to get them started feeding

the arcadia aro light is just for red aros and any bright light will make them fight more im sorry to say bright lights and more than 1 aro dont mix

yeah they do seem to be squabbling alot and the fins were like that when i got them. will keep the lights off for now to see if that helps and if need be i have a 6x2x2 i can use to seperate.do you know if the arcadia arowana lights are any good?thanks for the advice.

I think the arcadia arowana lights are mainly aimed at red arowana's. Also you have to mount them under water. I don't think I'll ever bother buying them.

not true the arcadia arowana lights can be used like normal tubes not under water then you only need to buy the tube not the full kit

just the tube is £25 which is a lot better than the £100 they want for the kit

if you put them under the water you will boil the water as its like having a 5ft heater

He seemed to be feeding them all sorts including sliced ham/chicken etc.
Have had 2 of them taking locust already, but they do seem to be fighting quiet alot, so will keep lights off for now and see how they go. hopfully they will settle down soon?
Thanks

this was the probem i had

i had 7 x blue base cross backs and 2 chili reds as i need to keep the lights low the chili never got much color as reds need lots of lights

your tank looks big so add a few tin foil barbs more bogwood and get some power heads in their

a aro com is hard work and if you want a carm tank its never going to happen you will always get a alpha who will pump all the rest into a corner

what you will find is if you turn the lights out they will all shoal around happy even better with a blue light

ill get myself a blue light at some point, and keep them dimed for now.
It is a big tank, but has a few big cats that you carnt see in pics. Would tin foils calm them down? if so i could move some cats over to a diffrent tank and get some.
The guy i got the aro's off had four tinfoils in with them, and come to think of it he didnt have any lights on either...!

if i remember right you got them from Kev

i was going to buy his fly river turtle

tinfoil barbs are great as the get in the way of a aro chasing another one

the best way to make a aro com work is to pack the tank full of fish with the more aros the better

it may sound funny but your tank is probably to big for them and 9 would be a better number

once they are all feeding well it may calm down

i wish you all the luck with them as a group of aros is a great sight

My experience with superworms is that the aros seem to get addicted to them and won't touch anything else. You can always gut load the worms but I prefer to feed mine shrimp and very seldom offer superworms. I sometimes soak the shrimp in liquid vitamins overnight.
