I can really appreciate how much Aro lovers in the US are pining for the chance to own a beautiful Asian Arowana. I do, however, fear for the implications of such a ban being lifted. The area in which these fish can successfully be farmed is comparatively minute and situated very close to the equator. So much so that they're not farmed successfully in the northern part of Malaysia. The already high demand and limited farm space is severely diluting the prehistoric bloodline of these amazing fish, not to mention adding further pressure to the virtually extinct wild species. I fear the industry nor the bloodline would survive such immense demand. It is a shame that a country with so many enthusiast are still deprived of such a privilege though.
