Asian Arowanas in US

I just wanted to know how many other people in the US see Asian Arowanas in Asian stores? I just got back from dinner and saw my first live Asian Arowana. Unless I was mistaken, I counted 5 rows of scales. If this fish is so restricted how come all of these Asian stores seemed to have them? How do they get them in the country in such numbers?

Some family owned businesses from asia have been known to get permits for them in the US. I believe there was a thread on here with a nail salon in a walmart and the family had a permit. I could be mistaken though. Anybody?

Like stated by Knowdafish. It's illegal. If they want to display the fish, that's their issue, but if the wrong people walk in, there will be a heavy fine and confiscation.
