One of my friends older brothers has a very high IQ, I've known him since I was 17. Now he is a 50 year old pot head who lives with his parents and hasn't done anything in his life. His excuse is his high iQ makes him too advanced to operate in normal society but in reality he is lazy and always has been.
As Hendre Hendre said, hard work will make the difference.
A few hours extra work will counteract a few IQ points.
Also if you are worried about the 2nd test why don't you just take it again and do it properly this time?

People have said that I don't play well with others.

I highly suggest rock climbing -- there are a growing # of indoor climbing gyms all over the U.S. and other countries. And if you don't want to interact with others you can just boulder by yourself (but plz don't try free solo:) Besides getting physically fit, as Hendre mentions it'll give you a super mental boost and more self-confidence to brush aside things like IQ issues and just go out there and get the job done, whatever you're goals are.

My best man for my first wedding got a full mathematics scholarship to Berkeley, He had no common sense. He also chose to be a biker instead of going to collage. I triad to teach him how to roof, but he could not grasp it.

Not everyone with a high IQ lacks common sense, LOL

I really can't say I'm an expert on the issue but imho it just shows that IQ isn't something that is uniform throughout every aspect of a person's life: some people have a high mathematical IQ, some have a high mechanical IQ, some have a high sports IQ (they see things in games that others don't and process the fast action more quickly/efficiently). I could be confusing aptitude with IQ, but I think they're inextricably entwined.

I graduated near the very top of every one of my classes from elementary school through university -- but I pretty much suck at mechanical things and am in awe of a 'simple' garage guy who can take apart and put together a car engine (or someone who can make a NASA-like filtration system for their fish tank).

Yeah, that's true, I think everyone is better in some areas than others. I'm not as good at math problems as verbal problems. A single IQ number doesn't always tell the whole story unless all the subtest scores are pretty much the same. What I like about IQ tests is that they give you scores in each area they test for, not just a single score, (provided it's an actual IQ test given by a psychologist, and not some online crap).

I'm glad you cleared that up. For a minute I thought you may have went the online route. I saw this same thing happen to Peggy Hill.

Online "IQ" tests aren't actual IQ tests and are absolutely worthless. I've been reading more studies, and IQ scores from childhood are usually extremely close to scores from subsequent tests (provided you put in effort!) so I think I'm probably fine.

I want to say I took one early in elementary school. For some reason I remember having a humbling average IQ, but don't remember the test.
