No internet and information harder to come by, lot of us flying by the seat of our pants without knowing that much, either keeping hard to kill fish or going by what we could learn from a magazine like TFH. Now if you hook up with the right forum it doesn't take long to become pretty knowledgeable if you put your mind to it.

I’m guessing I’m a generation younger than some of you- I’ve seen pics of my parents old tank that had 2 Oscars and a snakehead in it from late 70’s early 80’s in what at the time was a big tank a 50 gallon.
