Just noticed it's been spitting the worm back out after I've gone to work ffs so still don't think it's eating

- your silver dat is extremely thin. The entire upper back near the dorsal spines is caving in. Bloodworms was not cutting it nutritionally. This is pure speculation, but ‘some or most dats’ thrive in higher salinity. I’m on my 3rd Silver now. None in the past have reached over 10”. My salt dosage is 1.5 cups of 100% natural rock salt per 100 gallon. I too have flagtail, bichirs, and other characins (Apollo Sharks and Chalceus). My stock is 13”-14” Indo Pair, 13”NGT, 9” Silver, and 3x 6” NTT. They all been thriving in this salinity for 6 months. Have friends with my type of stock and stingrays that go up to 2 cups per 100 gallons.
Hope this silver gains some weight. Cut up wiggly worms and cut up frozen white fish or shrimp should aid. The spine should fill out if there are no parasitic issues. Good Luck !

I’m brand new to dats myself. But from what I understand these guys love shrimp. I just happened to have some freeze dried plankton when I got my little guy, and he seems to love it more than anything else. Maybe this is something to add into the mix of it all the other things you are trying to feed if you find it isn’t eating anything else.

I'm running out of ideas now. He use to eat cut up King prawns and blood worms only now won't eat either, along with mussels brine shrimp even live cherry shrimp most frozen food you can buy in UK. Sinking pellets soaked in bloodworm and prawns. I wouldn't mind he acts normal as he always has comes rushing up to the tank at feeding time up and down the glass like he's wanting and excited for his food then just watches it fall past ?

Cut up earth worms. If it’s not taking live worms or even live feeders. It’s likely got some internal parasites going on. Silver being that thin takes some time. Fellas here may have some ideas on meds. Not sure what country you’re in but a praziquantel and metrizinodole combo ingredients recommended.
You might have missed my previous post but the dat may be suffering from some type of parasite in its mouth or gill area as it seems to be having trouble eating even the small food that you've offered it.
The dat is horribly thin as was noted already and I suspect that something has been affecting it for some time.
Any idea what I can treat or what what the best ingredients are for instance as I'm from UK I carnt buy api general cure or some seachem products. I carnt even seperate it as we're getting ready to move alot of stuff is in storage
