I see. So, you're substituting 'advanced' for 'experienced' or 'obsessed'.
A fishkeeper with a 2000gal tank and a breeding pair of leopard sharks is no different than a fishkeeper with a plastic Garfield bowl and a breeding pair of bettas. Unless one of them can describe the physiological or behavioral changes that occur in the breeding cycle, what says one fishkeeper is more advanced than the other? The most that can be said is one is more "into" fishkeeping than the other.
I guess I just understand the term 'advanced' as meaning a more in-depth knowledge.

This is true.

You dont need fish to be advanced either. An advanced expert is a book of knowledge and experience.

Fish collection does not mean anything, whats in your brain does.

Any shmuck can make an aqua site and buy a fish and a 8x8foot pond, but It takes a diehard to get indept and become knowledgable.

There ya' go. I much prefer the word "experienced" to advanced. I'm also a follower of the 'Power of Accidents'. Let me explain... I was able to breed clown knives back in the early 80s. My pair had displayed to each other on many occassions but never closed the deal. While I was routing new plumbing lines around the garage, I set a bunch of pipes inside their tank so they'd be in easy reach for me. Well, as soon as the pipes went into the tank, the male knife started weaving in and out of the pipes and soon the female joined him. I left them alone for a few hours and returned to a nice nest of eggs that the parents were hovering over. See? This accident led to me becoming more experienced in the hobby. After that spawning, I started making a forest of the thick bamboo they used in carpet rolls for my knife tank and got a few more spawns out of them before I had to sell them off due to my new ship deploying.

u got this on video right???? I would have loved to see that

U just have way too many cool stuff happening in ur tanks. First the Octopus now the clown knifes.

Trust: Man, I wish I had this stuff on video. But, look at the era. A video camera was way out of my reach financially. And, the spot light for my 8mm was so bright I could never use it on my tanks. The fish just froze in place because they couldn't see where they were going. I didn't even own a decent SLR still camera with a flash until the latter part of the 80s.

A truly "advanced" fish keeper can keep breeding whale sharks, an expert is just someone who was once pert.
