Its possible they are sp. 'lugubris' cf. 'atabapo' that George has.
They look similar to sp. 'venezuela' as juv, and have circulated a bit lately as well. Or is it cf. atabapo sp. 'lugubris' ? Bugger. LoL
The issue I have with Rapps calling them sp. 'atabapo I' and sp. 'atabapo II' is that there are already pikes with those names. So its rather confusing.
See, THIS pike is ALSO called sp. 'atabapo II'. But as you can see, it looks nothing like the sp. 'atabapo II' that Rapps had.
One thing is for sure, Crenicichla shore can be tricky enough to ID when the names are agreed on, start getting the names confused, and it gets down right annoying.
So it would just be easier if we all called the pikes Rapps had by what he had them labeled as. At least then we would all know what we were talking about. This little guy will just have to be sp. 'atabapo III'.
