Here's some photos! ~ not the best quality but something...

First 3 pics~
Yesterday took the atabapo II (fire) pair from their hospital tank & put them in a community tank. They were languishing on the bottom, not eating, and very drab. Doing much better now, perked up & swimming around - should learn to eat pellets/sticks from the other fish soon. The male is about 9", female 8" or so..

Other pics~ lugubris sp. 'red atabapo
The male is over 12" - is more brilliantly red than the female, likes to stay in his 'cave'. Female is about 11", much more active & curious than him. They are both in a 125G, their 'spot' at opposite ends of the tank. Both are striking, absolutely perfect, show fish quality! It'll be a major accomplishment if they ever breed.

very nice pictures, especially the one showing off his big mouth to the FH

Noice!! Those 'fires' are looking great! Shouldn't be too long before the start doing the color change! Love it! Does the 'female' already have white in her dorsal or how do you know? I noticed in mine that they started to get a black splotch in the middle of the dorsal, kinda like the Saxatilis pikes, perhaps that indicates a female? Either way they are lookin great! Beefy as always!!

The lugubris sp. 'atabapo' are lookin awesome! They finally decided to show some red for yaz eh? Wicked man!! ;) Been talking to Lynn a lot lately, and I might be finally gettin back into the groove with pikes...;)....with a bang to boot!

very nice fish i cant wait it sounds like peanut knows somethin huh guys

awesome picks man gotta lvoe the atapabos

So you got over the whole HITH thing I see. Nice and fit looking fish. Still dont regret holding off on those reds, probably will later though.

It's amazing how fast they can break down in captivity.

What are you doing to treat them?

The fires are lookin good! To many good lookin pikes showing up lately,
all it is doing is makin it hard on which ones I want to do in my next tank.
Definitely to many voices in my head!

That and it makes the prices go up because the sellers know there is a big demand for them. Guess I have some part in that, haha. Oh well, can't help but try to get everyone interested in them, just awesome fish! ;)
