Not to hijack, but I finally managed to get a couple semi-reasonable photos of mine tonight. The second one is by far the best looking fish in the group...unfortunately the head got cut off in that shot.

Awesome man!! You can really see the colors starting to come in!! Very very sexay! Once you get a pair, hook a brother up aight?! I'd drive to meet you for those fish...haha...they are worth it. I can only imagine having six, must be really really nice. I am VERY jealous!

Will do! BTW, did you see the prices on myersi on the TUIC list?

Yeah, glad I got my three a long time ago...;). Didn't realize they could be worth that much though! I might end up selling them!! jk

Fish Spkr ~ we started the Metro a few days after they arrived, maintained the daily dose for about 3 weeks. Yeah they're reclusive... doin much better in the community tank tho. Takes a while for any wild-caught cichlid to make the adjustment to aquarium food, being with other fish seems to help.
New Pikes watch their tankmates, and eventually get the idea. Took a pair of new Lents a couple of months to get with the program - first the female, then a few weeks later the male. They started bulking-up & really growing.
NICE PICS OF YOUR FIRES!!!

ps~ our solitary myersi ("bumblebee cichlid") is bout 4.5", the last of a batch of 8. pretty sure it's a male - startin to look really good!

I think I've got all males as well. I might have to trade some of my males for some of Phils females...haha. They are HIGHLY conspecific though, even more so than Crenicichla I think! Man they don't like each other! haha
