What can I say but "Damn" that's a cool pred tank!! I would love to put a goonch in one of my tanks but I am afraid they will eventually devour the entire tank!

Thanks guys! :)
Rays have been with the goonches for a month, qnd they have definately sparked something in the cats, probably competition for food cause the cats have become very active in getting food ... its sucks cause the rays eat slowly and in my attempts to keep them well fed, the cats are eating a ton, and thats no good considering how big th3y are already .... but I've learned a few tricks and now feed the rays as soon as I turn on the lights or during a waterchange since the cats are a little off balance and dont come over to the ray side right away ... seems to be working for now .... I mostly feed pellets but also shrimp and scallops for the cats since its bigger and less nutrient packed than the pellets to try and limit th3 growth a bit

And I agree blk, these cats are risky and every time I turn on the lights I breath a sigh of relief when I see everyone still in 1 piece .... but I love the cats too much to ever consider getting rid of them .... they are an awesome fish, both beautiful and powerful ... would be a nice addition to your tank for sure albeit a little risky

wow, love the stock, but those cats are a disaster in the making for this rays :(
I dont think it will last long. I lost a hystrix to a tig a while back, since rays are my #1 i had to move the BIG tig. I think eventually during feeding someone will get hurt.

I always look forward to your updates cause love the characin!!

I agree, it is scary, but only time will tell ... I've got a 220 for the rays if need be, but so far no wounds to the rays and nobody is acting strange so I'm going to keep rolling with it .... thanks for the kind words and the warning :) I get very nervous too during feeding time!

Geez, those Goonches look awesome!!

I wish nothing but peace in this tank! :)

Haha, thanks guys! I keep beethoven playing down there 24-7 to keep everyone at peace! Really the only aggression fish to fish (not food related ray/goonch interaction) has been the larger goonch seems to like biting my Armatus .... it happenned about 2 months ago, and about 2 weeks ago and it sucks cause I love my Armatus .... Tigers nip and chase along with dorado during feeding times and lose a few scales and Armatus occasionally nudges the VATF and others out of the way, but this never results in any damage .... The only other aggression has been the datnoid chasing the Dorado only, so strange, and nobody else .... I call it karma since Dorado used to be a real bastard to my ATF's, big brother Datnoid is just looking out for his buddies! And boy does the Doraro run with his tail between his legs ... Big Goonch is def my biggest concern, but theres really nothing I can do with him since he's 25-26 inches except hope .... getting rid of him is out of the question, I'd rather pawn my fiance's engagement ring to buy a new tank than get rid of him! Shhhh dont tell her that though, although I think she knows I would .... LOL

Thanks dude ... that was probably the laziest they'll get when searching for pellets, I'll get a much more aggressive vid when I get a chance now that I know how to post video's ... dont want the ray guys to get too mad at me though :D but as I said before, it looks crazy but the rays are doing just fine so far, so no harm no foul, and the techniques I'm using are keeping the rays well fed
