Love the bambusas! How big are they?

That armatus is going to heal fine.
 
Bambusa is about 8 inches I'd say, kinda put him through the ringer since I got him, with switching tanks, and getting beat up, but he's doing great in his current set up and healing up nicely, so I figure the fast growth is coming, and I'm looking forward to it! He's going to have to get REAL big before I can even think about putting him in the big tank now that the goonches are in there

Just picked up a small Nile Perch, that I'm sure I'll be regretting in a year or so, but I love them and just can't help myself!

2nd pic looks like he has a scratch on him, but its not, its a scratch in the acrylic of the tank

Yeah, yours is Salminus franciscanus. He is absolute beauty, too! If I can get one half as nice looking as yours, I think I would be thrilled. :)

I think you may have already mentioned it, but I can't recall; what is his observed growth rate and how does it compare to the GATFs?

He was about the same size as my VATF, both were about 7 inches when I got them and now Dorado is 14 inches and VATF is 13 inches .... Goliaths were maybe an inch or 2 bigger when I got Dorado, and their all about the same size now except my 1 Goliath that's lagging behind cause he's a more fussy eater ..... So I would say their growth rates are similar, but Dorado is a little faster, and seems to grow in spurts .... keep in mind Dorado was eating pellets the day I got him (thanks Jeff Rapps :D) while I starved the ATF's for about 2 months total while Dorado was eating that whole time

Keep a dim light on all night so the armatus can see. It will help him from becoming a snack when the cats come out to play
