Atlantic Stingrays (D. Sabina) that live in Florida in freshwater

I believe the fascinating thing about this particular ray is the evolutionary history of its adaptation; that isn't demonstrated in a marine tank.

Is it true that they don't thrive in fresh water?

In the St Johns river system, some live their entire lives in freshwater. In tanks, it sounds like the excess waste production is a prohibitive problem.

I've had a brackish tank running smoothly for a few years now and I'm interested in getting an Atlantic Ray,,, Plenty of room and very peaceful tankmates are ready to go...

What size tank? They're irregularly offered. Just keep an eye out in the classifieds forum.
