There's no specific list of words, but most of them are common sense. A few of them might not make quite as much sense for those of you who haven't been on here for a long time. Avoid posting stuff about "that other fish site," too.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to provide any Messages, Avatars, Titles, Signatures to the Monster Fish Keepers forums that:
(a) infringes any third-party intellectual property or publicity/privacy rights, (b) is knowingly false, and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violation of any law or regulation, (c) contains any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots or other computer programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information, and (d) promotes piracy.

As each forum is specifically tailored to address certain topics, you are responsible for initiating new threads in the correct forum. You should stay on-topic at all times. The appropriate content for each forum is described in detail on the Monster Fish Keepers forums homepage.

You agree not to post the same message in multiple forums without permission from the Monster Fish Keepers Administrator. All such requests for permission should be directed through the Administrative forum.

"Impersonation," or assuming the character of another member by copying his username and manner of writing, is not allowed.

"Multiple User Names," or assuming the character of more than one member by using more than one username and manner of writing, is not allowed.

"Flaming," or lashing out at other participants or displaying repeated dissatisfaction of Monster Fish Keepers Administration and corrective actions, is strictly forbidden. Proper etiquette is required for participation in Monster Fish Keepers.

"Spamming," or sending unsolicited electronic junk mail or junk newsgroup postings, in any form, is strictly forbidden.

"Trolling," or posting insulting or deliberately divisive threads/replies for the purpose of (1) harvesting retaliatory insults and flames, or (2) throwing off the balance of the forum, is also disallowed.

You agree not to disrupt the normal flow of dialogue or “flood,” cause a screen to "scroll" faster than other users of the Service are able to type, or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other users' ability to engage in real time exchanges.

You agree not to use the Monster Fish Keepers forums to either advertise or promote commercial endeavors, which includes direct posts, as well as, active links to other sites on the Internet, without permission from the Monster Fish Keepers Administrator. All such requests for permission should be directed through the Administrative forum. You may, however, include URLs or active links to commercial sites, reasonable in number, only for the sole purpose of expanding on comments or providing additional information as part of regular forum interactions.

Nope. Don't have a list nor is one likely to be promulgated. It defeats the purpose by allowing those who are sensitive, and those members who are minors, to see the offensive words in print.

***BTW, I'm surprised no one has realized that the 23 points previously stated was an arbitrary number simply thrown out there. Usually, it takes the proverbial 3-strikes to get a vacation from the site. HOWEVER, ...in cases of extreme intent and/or repeat behavior after recent warnings/infractions, it may be decided that a member requires a timeout before the 3 strike has occurred.

And, as always, posting porn or spamming the site gets the offender an express pass off the site immediately and permanently.

Nobody reads the tos, the warning was just a suggestion for first timers of a non intentional infraction, I dont mean to upset you. And it is not a defense due to the simple fact that infraction is issued and not retractable hence the impossobility to defend. Again no disrespect intended, personally when I recieved one I was shocked n embarrased, realisticly I "didnt know" and there was an obvious lack of malicious intent. Doesnt change the rules, but fortunatly my opinion can be expressed.


Also, not to start a problem just a fact. Anyone with simple computer skills can reset there ip and be back on the site regardless of being banned, this makes the system kinda pointless.

Oddballer I have no problem with you only respect, and feel privileged to post on mfk.

Never tried to use a work without symbols, used symbols as not to offend due to my personal nature, didnt know there was a filter prior to infraction. But know I know the rules, not even complaining, it is what it is.

By signing up for MFK, you acknowledge that you read the TOS and will abide by them. It's no different than the various other agreements that people just sign/click without reading them; saying "No one reads those, so I didn't know," certainly doesn't get you out of trouble with those agreements either.

I have'nt been on for a long time. I pop into MFK and see a recent thread from a fellow whom I learned from, and to respect from day one. AND HE HAS TO ARGUE WITH YOU *****. Jeez.
 
I respect the mods here... Dealing with 50K+ people on a forum is no easy task... An Going trough the threads takes time...

As for the profanity... Its not hard to learn what is and whats not acceptable when you types said word and your reply shows up as a series of * symbols

As for oddball, to whoever said he only whines, i've actually seen him help a lot of people on this site...
