Hi RTF,

Very nice site you have here. I decided to join, hope you don't mind. :)

Welcome to the site. Its not mine but all are welcome to join!

IoStrisciare - a guy on another board jump through a small gap on the net and
fell on the net itself. Found the arowana stiff .=( But as long as the clip is secure and there are no holes then all should be good.

Koji - yeah but a calm arowana can get startled too sometimes. Dont wanna take risks..

Chen - sounds good. I have a heavy double strip light on my tank too but the front lid is loose so i use weight to make it more secure.

Heard lot of aro death due to jumping out of the tank. But what is a real cause?Aro don't jump for nothing.I get to know of a guy who never cover the tank at all.

mine jump because his current was gone in the blackout lost a lot of animals

I use a single big piece of netting to avoid gaps. It also provides better ventilation for the tank i find.

they can jump from being startled, sick, stressed or even during feeding.

You can don't cover the tank, but its a big risk.

And well... most importantly, it depends on your aro's character.

arrows jump as part of natural feeding behavior in the wild, i hear.

yea.... but that depends on the character of the aro....

my red one loves to jump for frogs that manage to climb up the sides of the tank... whereas my gold one just looks at them and hopes for them to drop in... :hitting:

haha, lazy spoiled gold arrow :P

maybe he's just too fat to jump.... i dunno....

it depends on their character.... thats the other point that make these fish so interesting...

Some are real gluttons while others are retiring and some others playful... kinda cute...
