Before I start talking, I'd like to say I'm not for PETA.

That is very cruel. There are two methods for which they do that- to get the yellow coloring, the fish is put in an acid which burns off its slime coat. It is then put into a dye (in this case yellow) and then put into a bucket with "replacement slime". The fish is then ~WHILE STILL CONSCIOUS (sp?)~ is stuck with a large needle multiple times, until the chosen pattern is acheieved. This not only hurts, it can stunt the fish and shorten their life span.

Please don't tell me you own that fish?!?!?

We all know it is cruel, but let me explain the fish.

That fish was sent to Oddballer as a sample. Oddballer then send it to Neoprodigy. Neoprodigy then provides a safe haven for tattooed fish.

and in return for this safe haven, 123123 more fish will be tattooed as a result of demand.

Fish do feel pain- not necessarily little community fish, but larger fish certainly can feel pain. When I accidently used the wrong "cling medication" for my sick cories, they squirmed and rubbed themselves against the side of the net as soon as I poured it on them. They can feel pain.

And if I ever find the group of people tatooing fish I will personally call the strongest PETA officials to reinforce the situation (they can be very convincing to the unsuspecting).

you are still incorrect

what make a large fish any different from feeling pain than a small one?

a fish is a fish, they all dont feel pain like human being or any other animals that feel pain at our levels

fish may not be able to feel pain as we do, but like us they still have a well cordianted escape response (fight or flight) that is generated at brain stem or spinal cord level.

if a fishes brain stem and spinal cord worked like a persons they would have no awareness of the fact that it hurts like a *****
