i c. are bat rays poisonous?

They can sting

the bacteria on their tail is poisonous and will infect u if it stings. holding them by the mouth helps prevent you from getting stung

Stingrays can be finicky, but really fun though. I havent caught bat rays but have caught skates once on a west coast trip, also a sting in the gulf. Both times they stuck to the bottem like a pissed off grouper going into a hole. But they are really strong for their size.

bat rays not stingrays. bat rays are not finicky at all, sometimes where I fish batrays will come about 2 feet from shore and I'll walk out and rub their fins and head and they dont get scared off, its really amazing

Oh im talking of how they fight, they either suction cup or fight like a fish 5 times their size. Also they have venom not poisonous bacteria, there can be a really bad infection from the later from the barb though. As in like a few days.

the vemon isnt very potent Ive researched it. what does the most damage is the bacteria on the stinger. And I know what you mean about the fight and how they fight like a fish 5 times their size that why you have to love them!

lol these guys are fighters. lol

tharts why they have the nickname: Mud-Marlin

so ive been looking around, and none of the charters will drop their prices... sucks. ima it seems like catalina island is my best shot right now.

Go to catalina and fish the mole in avalon, its the area where u c people fish by the ferry. you can catch all kinds of stuff there and you can see 30 feet down. you can even catch bonito off the shore. That is my favorite place to go ever, i have been there 5 times.

is it a high chance of actually catching something? whats your set up? like bait, strength of the line, etc.
