i figured out something interesting. i stripped 14 eggs from my female but i couldnt get the eggs to tumble continuously in my breeder hangon. i didnt want to make a tumbler so i put the female back into the breeding hangon with the eggs. i knew i was taking a risk because i tried this before with my other female and she ate some of the free swimming fry so i separated them again.
this female took some in her mouth and spit them back out a few times but finally she just took them all back in her mouth and she still has them in there. she must have been separated from the eggs for at least ONE HOUR. didnt even eat one.

edit: recounted. it was from about 1:30am when i stripped them to 7am when she had them all back in her mouth

some fish are just great parents and the urge to be a parent is stronger in some..but that is remarkable.. the more i learn about fish the more i learn how smart they are..
