Yeah, something like 25000 emigrated to Australia last year! I know a few people thinking of moving over to spend a few years working in the big mines to pay off their mortgage or save a big deposit for a house.
Cairns houses the great barrier reef. Which requires tropical temps. Even as far south as Bundaberg can house tropical temps without a heater year round. Haha yeah, most of it anyway. I'm not sure about the colder parts of the south island, but we have goldfish in ponds outdoors here.
