I am selling my Aussie Lung fish due to needing room in the tank, He is about 7" in length and very fat and healthy $600 pm me if your interested.

Wow, I didn't think the natives would be so expensive!! Do you need permits or anything to keep them?

I have been in the hobby since about 1994 and have kept various American ciclihd's over the years. Although my collection nowdays is very modest.

120g: 12" Male Red devil.
40g: 7" Male Carpinte and 4" common Pleco.

Omg japes that made me so freaking angry seeing some of your photos in the p/lounge and seeing your name with banned next to it, your fish tank is the only reason why im stocking my 110 with earth eaters and i have aspired to make my tank look as nice as yours,
I have noticed this forum doesnt really seem to care about whats best for the fish, the tanks are usally poorly stocked and overstocked and the only thing people say is "nice" and "Cool tank", the only thing the mods seem to do is shoot down the helper. Although there are people that tell them how it is you were one of them.

better introduce myself i live in the goldcoast hinterland 16yrs old and my hobbies are bmx and fishkeeping and my tanks include;

55 gal mbuna- 3 yellow tail acei(soon up to 6)4yellow labs(soon up to 6) 2 JOHANNI soon to be rehomed and replaced with some peacocks.

110gal SA tank-2 bolivians for cycling undecided on whether to keep or not.
stocking gonna be 5 jurupari satanoperca, 3 green or rotkeil and a but load cories.

36 gal- mouth almightys(unsure how many) and some local rainbows. dont worry i think the rainbows are big enough to avoid being eaten...i hope

I'm obviously disputing it but if it isn't overturned I'm not really interested in being a member of a community that puts poor fish-keeping in front of members that offer useful contributions. I'll stick to my other forums that don't protect those kind of people.

I'm not sure how the system works, but I've had an infraction (warning) for a while for giving a certain 'not fully there' member realistic advice. Essentially, he was planning a 1700G Indoor Pond, the guy is 18, doesn't work, lives with his relatives, and his uncle won't let him have anything bigger than a 29G tank, and he's wasting peoples time asking for stocking advice for a 1700G indoor pond. Wasn't rude or abusive, just told him that he'd need to stop posting here, go out and get a job etc.

Now this certain member (there's a sticky about him in the lounge, those who frequent the CA/SA section will know him too) is notorious for how impulsive and basically idiotic he is with buying fish. He had like 5 Convicts, a couple of Firemouth etc. crammed into a 29G for a while, obviously people ask him what he's doing, etc. etc. Looks like the message is finally getting through, and he "gets rid" of everything, picks up a couple of(ended up being 5) Gouramis, an Angel, a Ram, some Tiger Barbs, etc. all good.

Then he makes another thread in General Aquarium section saying he's got a couple of Convicts again. Obviously this goes against all the good advice so many people have tried to help him with because he "isn't all there", which he isn't, I'm not making that up, he's on a disability pension etc. He's been instructed by mods (apparently) to cut down the amount of threads he makes. This thread is answered within a few posts and he continues to spam it etc. I can't remember exactly what I said, but it was along the lines of "Stop asking for advice if you won't take it, it's at the stage where you're a disgrace to this hobby." Pretty harsh, fair enough, I can cop an infraction for that, I know he read it so hopefully the message gets through.

I get the infraction, so I simply query the moderator about a response he makes, no abuse or anything obviously. Apparently that's blasphemy or something, I get an infraction for that too.

Then aforementioned 'not all there' member asks another question to which I response 'Get a bigger tank.', bam, another infraction for that comment, banned for 2 years. Moderators don't like people with backbone it seems!

I look at it this way. If they want to ban an active and useful forum participant from a forum because I stand up and (try to) give realistic advice to someone who can't help himself or others, then I don't want to be a member here anyway.

If they realize what they did was heavy handed and inappropriate, and decide they're going to target the actual problem, then I'm happy to stay.
