Is your schedule so full and your pockets so deep that you really find this necessary?
thats what i was thinking, good job non the less. mine i just put a bulkhead halfway down the back of the tank and just flip a ball valve to drain, and flip the other ballvalve to refill the tank, cost me about 60 bucks

The difference being mine is fully automatic. I don't even know it's happening most of the time. Tonight I heard some clicking, looked over and realized the tank was draining. 20 minutes later I heard some grugling and looked over to see the tank 1/3 empty and starting to fill. My other four tanks have to be done by hand so it's real nice not to have to mess with the biggest in the bunch.

It could be done a lot cheaper but there are things I wanted like a PH/temp monitor. There were built into a controller that shut's outlets on and off. But that raised the price considerabily.

Its been a dream for 10 years to build a large tank in the wall. I learned a long time ago to spend the money on what you want and be comptelely happy with it then to sell yourself short and regret it later. It's all personal choice. I could have done it without the controller and saved $240, I could have left out the float controller and saved another $90; but I wouldn't have been as happy and the system would be as flexible and expandable.

beautiful system.. i am going to tart piecing parts together for a drip system soon.. any advise?

I've neve done a drip system, I'm not entirely sure how they work but I have an idea. I think one of the Mod's has one (Rally?). I wouldn't be surprised if there's a DIY thread on here somewhere.

I think this system is great. There are a lot of different ways to accomplish the same task. If there's one thing I learned building racecars, it is to build it right with the right parts the first time. This system is proof of that process.

I think you have truly contributed something awesome to the hobby. When I get my 500+ gallon dream tank some day, I will be referring back to this thread constantly.

Thanks so very much for posting this!

this is very true. you did it for yourself, and thats what really matters. i think you did a very professional job on the auto changer as well as the tank. money comes and money goes, spend it on what makes you happy!
