this is very true. you did it for yourself, and thats what really matters. i think you did a very professional job on the auto changer as well as the tank. money comes and money goes, spend it on what makes you happy!
I couldn't of said it better, thanks :headbang2

Danger,
I think that is one HEII of a nice rig. Of course everyone would do this or that different, but when you were putting it together I bet none of them were in your house helping. Looks clean and professionally done. Good job man.

alot of people are asking why you spent so much money? if i had extra money to invest on that i would, just imagine not having to do water changes. and on a 220 gal? with oscars? nice job with that. good idea. props

Having followed this link in your profile I am impressed at the capacity and flexability of the system. Heck, after looking up the specs on the aqua controller, I was absolutely drooling at the possibilities, I find myself slightly tempted to buy one for my planted 55 for co2 and lighting control. sure, its an expensive waterchange setup, and not worth it for many people, but for a big tank with big messy fish and/or sensitive fish why not? considering how much we often spend on keeping a $5 fish alive to begin with, whats a little more cash?

and another thing, imagine being able to go on vacation and not having to let the neighbor kid do the water changes to keep your tank alive for another week......

Hey D C how much to come and set that up on my 775 gallon indoor pond?

wow thats cool I wish i had the cash to make that!

I bought the aquacontroller iii with the intention to build a set-up just like yours. Pump on/ pump off type of a set-up but I went with a drip system instead. When the sump gets to the maximum level it just overflows through a drainline I installed on the sump. Nice to see my original idea in action though the price would've much higher here in Canada.

I also have chloramines which I am fairly certain cannot be removed by UV sterilyzation. The other post indicated that it will actually make it less effective. I just sold mine finding them to be about as usefull as a high micron filter floss IMO.

The drip system just worked out a lot easier fo me. Fresh water and Prime drip in old water drips out. It hasn't been perfect (recently lost the chloramine dosing pump)but when its running effectively there's no way I'd ever want to go back to the old school water changes.

Great job by the way!
