Automatic Water Exchange System

Have you figured the cost of dripping hot water 24/7? I wonder how that compares to having an extra aquarium heater in your red tub.

Although intuition may say that dripping hot water into the tank is worth trying, the flow rate is really too low and the heat loss is too high for it to be cost effective. It was good thinking though.

nice set up but it seams you have a lot more stuff on it than whats needed

i have the same set up but its no were near as confusing

i just have a 3 stage filter like yours but 3 stage the water connects to the 3 stage which then goes straight to the tank

i then have a over flow on my sump no need for all the electric valves as if the power goes out then the water will continue to flow but be drained out of the sump over flow

Thank you :) T1KARMANN :))

It is not that bad as that might seem. Moreover, couple days ago I changed dripping system to RO filter. My RO filter give me 2 gal per hour and now I do not need anymore water pressure controller and drip emitters (stoppers).

Other staff is only for safety, and it just working... :)) without any problems...

very well thought out...i particularly like the solenoid that stops water flow when the power cuts out and the fact that you use both hot and cold water...as opposed to just cold water.

Thank you :) I;m using only cold water...

It's all about safety. It's like wearing a seat belt; you don't have to wear one to drive anywhere but when you need one, you'll be glad you had one on. Or sorry you didn't.

Thanks CHOMPERS. I want to say exactly the same :)

I live in Condominium, and I have cold water for free. I use only cold water. My water temperature in tank is always the same. 2 gal per hours is not much and water from RO filter (cold water) when it enters the tank is heated rapidly.

You can have right, but when I turn off my tank heater, water temp. is going down very slow. Maybe the heater is turn on more frequently but is not so bad. RO filter works only with cold water.

absolutly blood fing brillant setup my friend its genius

Thank you !!!

Here is a slight modification of the system - adding RO / DI filtration.

I used an additional sensor and a pressure gauge measuring the TDS to be sure that the tap water is reaching the proper pressure to the filter (must be at least 50 PSI)

The blue hose goes to the tank (2 gallons per hour) and black is waste water outlet and put it in my red container for the waste water.

I removed the separation of the two hoses that went to the aquarium, and a pressure regulator, which was no longer needed using the RO filter.

Thank you !
