Serviceman and new father saves his co-worker and is canned for is heroism?! Autozone just lost this customer, too.

I agree. The quality of some of the parts at Auto Zone is questionable too.

Yeah, a local Home Depot fired two employees recently for stopping a shoplifter. No guns... They just told the guy to stop as he walked out the door. It got them fired...

What do they get for assisting a shoplifter, a bonus?

the guy brought the gun in to stop the robber. a gun would be easier to use to stop a bad person instead of using an oil filter or a spare tire

A well placed "spill" of fresh oil would keep him from getting up off the floor though!

What happens when the guy comes in and fires upon ur employees? By not allowing ur employees to protect themselves u take their safety upon urself. IE their blood would be on ur hands.

auto-zone did him a favor...now he'll get a job = his worth...somebody with sense will see this and give him a GOOD job....

It is a sad state of affairs the world is coming to, where an act of heroism is superseded by corporate policy. But so it is, unfortunately, nowadays.

Some part of me wants to believe that there was some kind of behind the doors agreement between him and the company. He left, but probably not empty handed ( i hope )

If corporate had any decency.....
