  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay, thanks.

Yeah 20" BGK is a lot like Bigfoot. Lots of people claim they exist but yet no pics.

Mine is 14" and about 3 years old.

Also possibly due to the fact that knifefish are one of the hardest fish to photograph! But that does seem to be the average high end size. I know they get much bigger than that in the wild.

Mine is about to be in a fifty five gallon now. She is eight inches but will probably not get more than 12 since it is a female. but they can get 20 but usually not more than 15

you could stunt him.
The small tank = stunting myth is just that. A myth. As long as the fish is fed well and water quality is kept up the fish will keep growing. They myth arises because as the fish gets larger it becomes harder to maintain good water quality in a small tank.

The largest BGK I have seen was only 10 inches. I have seen a 14" clown knife ( think it was a CK, the tank was dark) but never a BGK. Just my experience, but I know they do get that big. I'm betting yours gets 12- 14. If it does get up to the 20's we need pics!

Haha okay thanks Younglin

Any pics on that 14"?
Nice man must be a male i heard females grow slower!

How can you sex BGKs? No one's really been able to tell me how on that.. Mine is still pretty young but it comes out a lot more these days. I've had it for a few weeks and it has put on another 1/2" or so since then. Probably because I feed it plenty of bloodworms directly to his "cave" and he slurps those suckers right up! lol :D
