in the bay/delta when the waters are nice and muddy looking.after the rains
 
Check the fish reports. I think Ive read they are catching them in Hesperia. Also there have been a couple of record breakers this year. I even heard of one caught out of the aqueduct.

wow so they been really swimming to many places out here in California...lol I want to get some but im not sure which one get tolerate warmer temperatures...do you guys know? and do you guys know where I can get one...?
 
We have some huge sturgeon where I work (8 ft +). Sometimes I want to hop in their tank and swim with them. (I could maybe take pics if anybody is interested).

You can catch sturgeon the sacramento and san joaquin rivers and their tributaries. I see them jumping out of the water all the time when I go do my field work in the area.
 
Caught 50 yards from my house...(by my neighbors)...
