My lfs offered me a caudiocellatus spiny eel for half price, I declined because it was too small. Then at home I look on the aquarium Glaser site and it says it was the first import into Germany of that species ever. You can imagine how pissed of I was at myself!

Walked away from bowfins once for only $10 cause i didnt have a good tani at the time. but now i do and years later ive never seen another bowfin again and probably will never see one

I will not stay silent about animal abuse. How can you love the hobby when you support a barbaric and cruel practice that is extremly painful for the fish and is banned in most civilized countries? You won´t find that crap in a EU LFS. Here for your information what you support:

Darius, if you truly wanted to confront the crule side of fish keeping you would confront store owners who sold fish like this. But no.....you confront everyone you dont agree with on the site....because its easy....you hide behind your computer. All your doing is anoying people who are not responsable for the crule aspect of fish keeping.
Any time we inprision an animal it is crule. Their is no need for it besides our own enjoyment. I know you keep bichirs and looking into keeping turtles. Your crule....you just like to sit on your high horse and judge.

How hard is it to say "Do you know what you are supporting by buying a dyed fish" and then link some websites or quotes about the issue but no, instaid you say "YOU SUPPORT ANIMAL ABUSE?!?!." And you wonder why people don't like you...
LFS sell what customers demand. You stop the demand, you stop the crime. Evryone who buys such perversions is responsible for their existance. I don´t hide behind my computer, i fight active against animal abuse. What do you do against it? Your avatar indicates that you like to abuse animals. So i wonder why i even asked that.
durius you cant get mad at him for buying the painted fish when you buy those fish the store owners and employees dont tell you what they go thru in order to paint them. to be honest all pet owners are abusive in one way or a nother weather you take impeccable care of your pets or not people catch and take these animals out of their natural environment and house them in cages and tanks in their homes. then keep them there for years on end until the animal dieds of old age or other reasons . i understand your point of abuse but you have to understand this is that local pet stores dont care about animal curelty and how they got the way they are all they care about is making money.
