Azoo 9 in 1 Arowana Sticks vs Hikari Food Sticks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm waiting for some sample of food sticks from Hikari, hopefully will be here soon.

Got them both starting out with my MJ, and I still have the Azoo almost totally full. MJ wouldn't TOUCH the stuff. Took Hikari no hesitations... It may end up depending on the fish.

from what i have experienced, the azoo pellets seem to "dissolve" faster, where hikari foodsticks seem to stay intact longer so it prevents your water from having leftover "crumbs"... i like Hikari.

whats a MJ? anyway the Azoo pellets are crap just look at the first ingredient what the hell is fish powder? alot of the food coming out of China is very low grade even Hikari has aro sticks made in China but it's very diffrent from the US and Japan pellets. don't waste your money just stick with Hikari that's my 14yr old jar's main diet as well as the rest of my aros.

I use Hikari, my aro eat hikari since 3inch long.
she eat it right away(like hikari is her usual food), hahaha...
(i was thinking it will take alot effort, guess i'm thinking too much)

i prefer hikari.

fish powder, maybe a powdered fish, just like potato powder, or egg powder, etc maybe...

I am not positive, but I bet fish powder and fish meal look very similar sitting next to each other.

I have used both pellets with good results. I have used for more of the Azoo for one reason, the price. You get twice as much for your money.

Have zero experience with azoo but my aros over the years, black/silver, have enjoyed hikari very much. I agree though that a varied diet is more important. My aros eat variety including market shrimp, cichlid pellets, freeze dried krill, crickets/worms, even flakes. To get them to eat such variety, I have had 100% success with small aros starting with pinhead crickets and then graduating to small bits of krill and finally small bits of food sticks. Admittedly I have never tried to sway a spoiled adult aro off live food as mentioned here! Hope this is helpful even if slightly derailing.
