:ROFL:never herd that one before:D I dont however if everybody that has a gator should try to do the same, many safety implications envolved, if Im destined to have one of such critters I think Ill let him do its own thing wille I wach behind the safety of a fence;)

There are safer ways I bet...Like wearing a medival knight suit and then drop kik it in the FACEEEE

save it for the zoo ... there is almost no reason for any regular person to have an alligator ... there is 2 places these animals belong .. the wild .. and the zoo .. period IMO

Actualy there are quite a few private people that are willing to go way out of their normal lifes in order to keep "big mean" reptiles such as gators in very good conditions in wich these animals trive, and sometimes even do way better then zoos. I know for instances that there is a bunch of people for example in Spain, England, France, etc with American gators and they are so experienced that have a hell lot of fun and go to increadble lengths to provide for their pets like building a back door tropical green house with pond in it. In this level of dedication I dont see any prob in people keeping this animals, its the impulse and inresposable pet owners that are the culprids of mistreating animals like this but at least in Europe fortunatly crocs and gators are normaly way out of reach of such persons.

im not saying they cannot .. im just saying i dont think there is a reason .. since they need more space then people do .. i dont like the idea ..

people can do whatever they want ... but im not going to cheer them on ..

Is there really a reason to keep any pet? ;) I would love an Alligator if i had a giant pond, and I should be working with them this summer.

I currently have one about 3-4' that I rescued about 3 years ago from a store that had him in appalling conditions.

He's doing great now, and has never struck at me. If you can say that an alligator is tame then this guy is.

Gator's when fed right, should only grow about 10-12 in. a year. That being said if you hold him everyday he should be pretty "tame"
These guys are not something that you can lose interest in (not feeding, housing rite, changing water), They cost much more than you would think to properly maintain.

Its also important to remember that these are wild, natural born killers NEVER TRUST THEM OR THINK THEY WONT BITE,

every gator is different and react different to certain stimuli.

With the means to provide for it and a respect for them, they make very rewarding pets

I love my gator and can say no matter the future, he is always going to be my favorite pet

We want to conect with nature, pets bring up the best in people, alot of species would be extinct or on the brink of extiction if people dint kept them, etc
