Not to derail your thread! But to give some advice to Hap3niz.
I usually go into an area where the baby turtles gather up away from the big guys, usually at the edge of the pond with lots of little lilies thingy and watch carefully for any sign of water movement or a little head popping up. If I do I literally go into the water at that spot and wait for it to pop back up again for me to know where they are exactly. I find that baby turtles around quarter sizes don't really run away from the spot they see you, they usually just go under for a while. Once they submerge again I just pick them up from that spot.
Easy as that! Works with the big guys too, BTW I caught an alligator snapper once but released it and it was tiny! On any sunny day I can easily catch over 5 with in an hour....
Not wanting to start a argument but you guys should avoid catching wild turtles even babys, one thing is having to remove them for some reason to save them, other thing is going to their home and cach them, there are more then our fair shair of good breeders and even better rescue societys with turtles to adopt, turtles have more then enough trobble to deal with this days, they dont need a extra one to lower their numbers
