Nice, surprising how quickly their black coloring fades, isn't it?

She looks really nice! Happy to see that your having good luck with her. And please do make a post of what you are doing/your experiance, because it seems to be working.

Okay, up to date this is the specifics of what I've done;
10 gallon bare bottom tank with an internal Fluval 2plus (good for up to 24 gallons), and the hood and heater that came with the tank. I added water to the tank till it was about halfway full, this allowed for the filter to create a waterfall effect for extra airation, without buying a pump. I added a potted plant and a plastic plant close the filters output in order to slow the water movement, as well as two other potted plants for surface cover and extra oxygen. I kept the water pretty warm, around 84 to 86 degrees. For water changes, I added 2 gallons of fresh pre-purified water. I didn't take out any water because I didn't want to stress out the fish, instead, I just replaced the evaporated water which was about 2 inches a week. Water conditions remained perfect. I fed freeze dried black worms and krill, as well as a constant supply of feeder white clouds, which are gone by the end of each week. She started eating after about two days of being in her new tank. Thats about it, and it's worked for me so far... I'll keep updating monthly :D

I had one that exact same size and fed it nothing but blood worms for 3 months as I was away on training. I came back on the weekends to clean the tank and my wife fed it for me while I was gone. After 3 months I started to feed it flakes and pellets and it took them right away. It grew to 25 inches before I lost it from a power outage. I don't have a pic when it was small but I had one when it hit the 25 inch mark.
