Can I put 2 of them (less than 18") in a 560? If I had 2 12" leos, how long would they last in a 560?

i beleive that you cant put two 18 inch leopards in a 560 gallon tank at all, lol, not unless your taking them to jail with you

your probably going to get more Info from SCSF lol.

Hmmm .. well if you lived in Canada - then I would say maybe for a little while - depending on the tank's exact dimensions.

But since your in California - I've got to say - NO WAY!!!

In case you haven't heard - it's Highly Illegal - to catch, buy or sell any Leopard shark - under 36" in length.

At that size - if you still want a couple of Leopard - then I would suggest - you look into getting a good size swimming pool - say at least 21-24' in diameter (about 340-450 sq.ft) with a total volume of about 10,000-13500 gallons.

why are they illegal?

why wont the link work:nilly:

Reasons vary with who you talk to.
Preservation of the species is one reason. If you take a lot of animals that aren't sexually mature, you're going to kill the wild populations off quickly.

Well - It's not illegal to own or keep a Leopard - just so long as the shark is above 36" in total length.

It's the pups and juveniles that are Illegal to collect. Not the adults.

Personally - I'm actually kind of surprised that since the Lacey Act went into place - that someone hasn't attempted to get a couple fo adult Leopards - and basically start a Captive Breeding program to raise Leopard pups for sell.
