What conditions do rays need to "get it on?"

Gee, i guess size comes to mind (yeah, i know , someone would say circumference). I remember that the mating started after i had managed to persuade all the rays in my pond to take cockles, fish and prawns from the market instead of the usual feeder baby catfish and live ghost shrimps from the fish shops. Tthe supply of food is constant and it is an easier task to perform.The rays get big very fast and then they realize that there is no need to run after their prey but jus wait for that 30min period in the evening for their food. With all that time in their hands, what else can they do??

Thanks. I always thought that flower rays were shy creatures.

Most people think that but once they are settled & feeding well they are aggressive little buggers. How many flowers do you see imported with full long tails?
I reckon they get munched off by other flowers in the wild
