Baby P. I.D.

The look like RBP to me . The latest pics show the spots . I have some very similar in size . I am work or I would post the pics. Mine look very close to yours.

First of all, baby rhoms are indeed possible as right now they are available for sale. The tail on the fish you posted does look like rhom, but the body shape does not... I'd expect a little more rhomboid shape than that. But then again, they could be stuffed from over-eating so it's going to be hard to judge from those pics alone. Also, baby rhoms might have a tendency to pick on each other.

Where did you get them? Aquascape? If aquascape, then they should be a baby serrasalmus of some sort. Likely rhom.

Rhoms grow incredibly slow, and RBP grows incredibly fast. So in a few months you'll for sure know what you've got.

Spot on they look stuffed to me, and the tail is what got me as well. SD's I think not... Although on cells its hard to tell.

Give it two/3 weeks if they haven't doubled in size their likely serrasalmus

This was on Aquascape marked as a Rhom...

i believe they came from 20/20 wholesale in portland oregon, i got them at a friends shop in bend. somebody told him they were blacks, not sure the full story.

anyway they are growing like mad, a solid 1.25" now, ill post some more pics next week just to be sure, but im pretty sure they are red bellies. even in the morning(most hungry) they still have a rounded shape and the jaw is getting wider not pointier. all the pics of baby rohms i can find show sharp angles even under an 1", just like in the pic from aquascape/

Whaaaaat? They came from my neck of the woods? Not a lot of places sale rhoms here.

I'm curious to see them in a week. It's the round body shape that's annoying me in the last pics

haha yep! have you been to animal house in corvallis? he gets them in from time to time, he had a 6" one a lil while back. though that store is way overpriced.

im over the hill in sisters. we have a new store in bend that has been doing well and getting good fish, better than anything over there till portland. pm me if there's anything in particular youre looking for.

Yes I have. Place is a dump but I stop by whenever I'm in that area. You've seen that tank with the big piranhas? What are they? Gold tint. They want like 140 a piece but the tank is unlabeled or priced. They wouldn't even tell me what they were when I called the first time. Just rare lol

Tank is always so murky I can never get a good look
