Baby Pbass feeding tip.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I guess my main focus was letting people know that in my experience, I have found 2 things they will eat besides feeders. I hate buying feeders, because they are always gross looking at the store. I was SUPER happy when they ate the meat. It was nice to see their bellies really full without having to give them feeders...

My Pbass seem to not have read the page in the book where they are picky eaters.Mine have eaten all foods (except flakes and I tried em) from day 1. try some black worms or blood worms and see if they like it. Experiment with all types of foods you'll find lots of different things they will eat.

i use the splash method...
It worked thus far as long as the fish takes the food as soon as it hits the water.

You throw in one feeder at a time as the pbass takes it as soon as it hits the water, swtich it up and throw in something else. It might take abit of time but this is the most effective way I've had success with in getting my fishes to take feeders.
good luck.

I have and I do. These are the first two things they have eaten besides live....My bass are only 3" or so. The LFS was feeding them nothing but feeders, so they were a little spoiled. I have had them for about 8 weeks.

Well, I traded my big female jag for bigspizz two p-bass. I fed them tonight and he is right, no pellets. I am going to keep trying for a little bit to see I they will give in.

I guess pellets are not even needed as a staple. I got them on dead meat, and THAT is the big step. I was hung up on pellets because that is all you read about it seems. Try the shrimp, various fish fillets, and stuff like that. Keep it frozen, and just use a very sharp knife. I cut things to make them look like worms, and that is when they struck. Good luck Troy, and I hope these bass turn into BASS Thanks for the jag. I will post her in the photo lounge now...

Dead fish still supports a piscavorous diet right? Or does it have to be live to hold true to the eating classification?

Yes it does :) But I believe that is a matter of opinion as well :)

I perfer to be able to feed live.. Though At this point I am feeding mainly non live.. When live is around for me it is free :D and that's Wonderful :)
From what I have read there is no definite description on wheather piscivorous is live or not.. Only that it is fish primarily :)
