Yes they must be cheap to buy if a shop can sell one in the UK for £270 - £400

Take away shipping costs and the shops mark up how much do you think they cost before all the added costs about £80

Its the shipping costs and death rate that kicks the price up as it's 1 fish per box and not a small box for a 12 inch + fish

Then the death rate which I have been told is around 50%

So if a shop pays £80 each for 2 lince and one is dead on arrival that then kicks up the price to £160 before the shop adds on shipping import tax and it's mark up

When I was thinking of importing my own I was told £80 for the fish then £150 shipping if the fish was dead on arrival they would send out another fish but I would need to pay all the shipping and import tax again

In the end it was less of a risk for me to buy from a shop at £270

Agree with T1karmann. Lince fish itself is not an expensive fish. Its the shipping more than anything that jacks up the price.
