Depends on the vet. Most herp vets I've taken animals to will charge around $25 just to examine it, and then add on whatever treatment they administer. I would expect to spend somewhere around $50-60
It says you live in TN, where abouts? I don't know of any herp vets in my area or anywhere for that matter. The only ones I know of are dog, cat, typical pet vets. Let me know if you know anything. I live in Clarksville if that helps.

Turns out this a tricky little turtle. He was floating upside down so I made the last post then went to pull him out of the tank and as I grabbed him he took off to the bottom of the tank. He's still kicking.

I'm in the Chattanooga area. From what I hear, there's one good herp vet somewhere on Lookout Mt. named Dr. Keller. Regrettably, I've yet to investigate it further....but call around the vets in your area. Although they may not be officially qualified to treat herps, they may be able to assist with some matters like open wounds or in this case, appetite stimulants. Some vets on their ads may just say "exotics: without more specification, so the best way to find out is to call.

This turtle could barely eat a small cricket. I will post a some pics in a few minutes. This guy is around the size of a quarter.

firstly, make sure he isn't floating lopsided. dunno if the upsidedown thing was a fluke. if he is floating lopsided, take him to a vet, they'll give him antibiotics for a possible respiratory infection.

in the meantime, make sure the little guy's water is at 85 degrees. no colder. they should be maintained at that temp. some will do fine, but for little guys esp one w/ a problem, 85 degress please, no less.

if he doesn't eat and you are really opposed to going to the vet, PM me, we'll MAKE him eat. :)

good luck, i hope it is not too late.
