Back at it

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol i meant new pics.... yeah the koloton has more defined patterns...both are nice though..... yup gonna have to get both

Just depends on the fish, this guy just happens to have a really yellow/light base, there are some that are real dark that rival PBBs in patterns.

I agree, the intensities of colors and patterns varies from fish to fish regardless of location I'm noticing.

Yeah, variations and patterning are over hyped by marketing in my opinion. People forget genetics between each individual fish immensely.

Yeah the more i learn about the catch locations , patterns and everything else. I dont put much weight now into differences. Just like you guys said each fish is different in its own right

Oh hey boys and girls, its been a while! Been wanting to come back and update my thread for a while now, just haven't gotten around to it until now.

I haven't gotten any new fish over the past year or so, but man is everyone growing up. I really wish I could upgrade my 180g, but that's not going to happen, I will probably eventually give up a couple Polys for bio sake, although I don't have any issues currently.

Unfortunately this year wasn't without its losses, I lost 2 polys to jumping. A 16" CB Nigerian and my beautiful 22" Ansorgii. Don't underestimate these guys power, I certainly did. Since the last incident I installed physical locks on the lids. Both times happened while I was sleeping and I assume my jardini was being a dick and spooked them.

With that said, the Jardini aggression is very mild, while he does nip at the bichirs from time to time, its no more than a mouthfeel and I don't think I have ever witnessed any real damage done to anyone.

The Irwini cats are absolute monsters. Slow growing species? Not the pair I have. One is probably 12-14" and another is 8-10", in just a year from 2-3". Cannot be happier with these guys. They are just starting to mature and grow their outer spikes, starting to look super gnarly.

Everyone else is huge now too, the smallest being the hybrid prolly around 15". The ornate has easily grown 12" in a year, putting him close to 18" now.

I still use a ****ty camera phone :(

I just had to take a break, one person can only read so many "how long will my silver aro last in a 55g" threads before he starts to go crazy, haha.

Welcome back bro, i thought you quit on us:)
Your poly still looking nice.
Sorry to hear your loss, i just loss a congi last month, some mystery death so i know how it feels. Glad you back again.;)
